The Marathon Yacht Club, located in the heart of the Florida Keys, was founded in 1951. We have been members of the Florida Council of Yacht Clubs since 1983 and cater to boaters and non boaters alike. Our members enjoy activities such as socializing, dining, cruising (on land and water), fishing, parties, games, physical activities and more. The Marathon Yacht Club was formed on April 24. 1951, with 24 present, and Chet Tingler was elected first Commodore. An avid and knowledgeable sailor and a member of the Florida Sailing Assoc., Tingler participated in training junior members in handling and racing various types and styles of boats. Rivalry
between the Key West Outboard Club and MYC started an overnight ocean race
in 1952 and the following year the Tingler Perpetual Trophy for the Marathon to
Key West Ocean Race was placed in competition.
Tingler won it twice. |

Virtually replacing the need for a boat, cable systems are an overhead towing device used to pull riders (wakeboard, waterski, or kneeboard) across a body of water. Keys Cable has unique, 2-point cable systems that are independently operated. Unlike traditional cable systems that pull multiple riders around a lake in a square or circular motion, our systems pull one rider at a time between two points, in a continuous, back and forth motion.
The riding feel is very similar that behind a boat, but slightly easier because of upward lift that is incurred from a higher tow point. The cable systems are run by small, electric motors, using only about as much energy as a small refrigerator, making them very energy efficient and the greenest source of wakeboarding available. |

The Seven Mile Bridge is a famous bridge in the Florida Keys, in Monroe County, Florida, United States. It connects Knight`s Key (part of the city of Marathon, Florida) in the Middle Keys to Little Duck Key in the Lower Keys. Among the longest bridges in existence when it was built, it is part of the Overseas Highway in the Keys, which is part of the 2,369-mile U.S. Route 1. There are two bridges in this location. The modern bridge is open to vehicular traffic; the older one only to pedestrians and cyclists. The older bridge, originally known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge, was constructed from 1909 to 1912 under the direction of Henry Flagler and Clarence S. Coe as part of the Florida East Coast Railway`s Key West Extension, also known as the Overseas Railroad |
